Aerobics, programs of physical exercises that help peole improve their level of fitness by temporarily raising their heart rate and breathing rate. the term aerobics - the original name for the activity - is now somewhat outdated and most enthusiasts use the name group fitness or group exercise. They enjoy group fitness classes for the health benefits they provide and as a way to meet other people. Classes take place in community centers and health clubs all over the world.
People who regularly attend classes can improve their cardiovascular health, reduce their bodyfat, increase their flexibility and strengthen their muscles. Other benefits include increased energy levels, a strengthening of bones, improve posture and a lower level of stress.

Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of modern Aikido, began studying Daito-Ryu Aikijujutsu from Sokaku Takeda in 1915 in addition to his previous martial arts involvement in Tenjin Shinyo Ryo Jujutsu and other empty hand and weapon arts. In 1931, Ueshiba Sensei opened up the Kobukan and later moved to Iwama where he opened up a dojo and established the Aiki Shrine in 1942. Ueshiba Sensei passed away on 16 April 1969 and left behind a legacy of martial art techniques now being taught all over the world.
Gozo Shioda, one of Ueshiba Sensei most outstanding students, joined the Kobukan on May 1932. Shioda Sensei performed his first public demonstartion in 1954. In the presence of 15,000 strong crowd, Shioda Sensei was awarded the grand prize for the demonstration, within a year, Yoshinkan was formed by Shioda Sensei. In 1984, the International Martial Arts Federation awarded him with the rank of 10th Dan along with the title of Meijin (Grandmaster). Yoshinkan Aikido is taught to the Tokyo women's police force and to an elite group of riot police for over 40 years. Soke Gozo Shioda passed away in 1994, leaving an organization which now stretches all over Japan, the Americas, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.

Chinese Arts came to the region early in this century. The earlier migrating Chinese artists were often more occupied with the problems of bread and butter and did little to disseminate the arts. However, the past few decades of artistic cultivation has managed to transform the "desert" to an "oasis". The perennial sunshine and colourful tropics sophisticated by the myriad of cultures and traditions have brought about an entirely unique environment for the creation of another world of Chinese Brush Painting.

CHINA SOARING CRANE QIGONG (CSCQ)
Qigong is a set of visualisations accompanied by gentle physical movements. "Qi" is the Chinese word for the vital force energy in our bodies. "Gong" is the ability, developed with practice, to move the vital force energy in our bodies. In truth, the mental work - the visualisation - is the Qigong. The moving of the qi, the healing and the transformative power of Qigong, is all in the mental work; the physical movements add the element of exercise. In this respect CSCQ which is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine is superior to all and sundry as it encompasses all that is superior and works by adjusting spirit, breathing and posture. It trains the will and the powers of concentration. In every movement there is also an exercise of the mind. Focusing the mind is the essence of Soaring Crane Qigong. The whole process nourishes the qi and blood and strengthens the immune system.
